We welcome Britt Wang as part of our 2024 coaching team! Britt grew up on a small farm just North of Christchurch, New Zealand. She is really close to my family, mum and dad and two older brothers. She loves all things outdoors - water skiing, snow skiing, paragliding, jet boating, diving and hunting; we love to do it all. Her passion is sports, especially hockey, but she has also spent much time on a trampoline, representing NZ at two world championships. Britt’s love for hockey started when she was first at primary school. She has a pretty competitive nature and loves being part of a team. Britt has represented Canterbury through all the age group teams, played her first senior national tournament in my last year of school and won the National tournament with the Canterbury Cats in 2022. She has played in the Premier Hockey League for the Southern Alpiners and has been invited into National Black Stick camps for the last three years. Britt was a New Zealand Under 21 team member and played Australia in a three-test series in Canberra in 2022. She has battled injuries over the last couple of years, but surgery in December 2022 has meant I am injury-free and loving a full hockey programme! Britt will provide enormous experience as a coach and player, and we can’t wait to see her on the turf throughout the year!
